This is a special vintage as it is our first Estate Grown Pinot Noir. A bold Pinot with lots of up-front raspberry, red cherry and plum fruit flavours, balanced with a good level of tannin & refreshing acidity. We had a windy December in 2013 which led to the vines producing small berries, giving a greater proportion of skin in our fruit pulp, which is why this particular vintage is more intense than usual.
Careful cellaring over 3 years has gently aged and matured this wine, showcasing beautiful round Pinot tannins and flavours. The Captain is a real crowd pleaser.
Hand-picked April 2014. Aged on lees for 7 months. Unwooded.
